We're back on October 11th, for a day of celebrating women in the arts, with workshops, activism and music!!
Ladyfest is an event for everyone regardless of gender, race or class that would like to come together for the day to celebrate women in the arts, make friends & have fun.

This year we'll have

- 5 Speakers / Workshops

1) Women and Art - more details to come

2) Gender and Mental Health -
A workshop with Rowan, who co-ordinates volunteers at Leeds Mind. Rowan will discuss her role at Mind and introduce the support the service provides. She will then facilitate a discussion around gender and mental health, exploring wider issues of gendered access to resources and power in society and the effect of cut backs to mental health resources. The workshop will end by exploring these issues of gender and mental health in a creative way, with art materials provided to create work that (if wished) can be compiled into a gender and mental health Zine.

3) Zine Making Workshop -
This workshop is an interactive workshop to encourage you to share your art, activism and thoughts through the zine making and how to share these with a wider audience

4) Women in Music Panel -
A panel discussion with some of the most talented ladies in the local music scene, focusing on the experiences of women in an industry that is traditionally a male dominated environment. The panel will include Kate Zezulka, founder of The Leeds Music Hub; Jilly Chatten of Spinning Bird booking agency, who's current roster includes Johnny Foreigner, Post War Glamour Girls and Acollective; and Louisa Osbourne of the band The Witch Hunt with more speakers TBC.
